A day in the life

There was a time when I desired,
Desired a change, desired a goal,
A goal in the mind,A valued image,
Of earthly glory and flowery praise.

I worked I sweated, I yearned, perfected,
Struggled isolated, wearing the mask,
That mask of karma,
That mask of truth.

Yet every single day I strived,
And finally managed to achieve,
Every single minute I saw,
That ugly wonderous monster called Me.

It rose and fell it waxed and waned,
And all I saw was that reflection,
In all whom I met, in all that I spotted,
In all that I felt, I loved or hated.

And when true karma, caught up to me,
Escape I did, from the world of perception,
Escape I did from the world of images,
Escape where, where to , where from.

Only to find the answer, again, is ME!!

An ode to a sanyasi
