Life

I am a pool of deep water

I am old age

I am the warrior’s sword

A ship’s broken sail

I am a raging fire

An endless plague

I am the earth that shakes

The flood that raids

I am a simple fall

I end all your suffering

In your funeral pyre

And yet you fear me

Let me come to you

Even as you live!
